Museo Galileo
Galileo Museum of the History of Science. A geek's dream, a fantasyland of science with a steampunk flavor. Housed in the Palazzo Castellani, an 11th century 'castle', the Museo Galileo is heir a five century-long tradition of scientific collecting, which has its origins in the central importance assigned to scientists and scientific instruments by the Medici and Lorraine families. The museum contains ALL of the known surviving artifacts from Galileo's original instruments, including objective lens of the telescope he used for his Jupiter observations. Also in the exhibit is his digitus impudicus.
